Adrian will assess his options and decide on his future at the end of the season, according to reports. That Spaniard has been at Liverpool for nearly a year.
The Express claims that Adrian is yet to make a decision on his future. He will make one at the end of the season, however, and could decide to leave the club.
That’s despite having an extra year on his contract after this one. While he could see his deal out, the pull of first-team football elsewhere could persuade him to move on early.
The Express article says that Liverpool can expect offers for Adrian, too. That is in line with reports over the last few months, with Estadio Deportivo believing that Real Betis could target a return.
What RTK has to say
If Adrian decides he wants to leave, then no one could blame him. He’s left his mark on Liverpool this season, particularly with his heroics in the UEFA Super Cup final.
But at 33, he’s coming towards the end of his career. In that respect, anyone could understand if he wanted to play week in, week out. He’s certainly not going to have that luxury at Liverpool.
In truth, Adrian has played far more than anyone could have imagined this season. Alisson’s injuries – and suspension – have allowed the Spaniard a chance to play a real part in Liverpool’s probably title win.
If the Reds do clinch the title, he’s fully earned his medal. And if he wants to sign off with that, it’s a wonderful way to go.
