Liverpool are one of four clubs looking at Benicio Baker-Boaitey, according to reports out of Germany. The teenager is attracting high-profile attention.
Sport1 claims the Reds want Baker-Boaitey. They describe the 16-year-old as a ‘sensation’ and one who Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Liverpool will fight for.

Baker-Boaitey has apparently rejected West Ham United’s offer of a professional contract. Instead, he’ll look for other clubs – understandable, given the apparent interest.
Sport1 compare Baker-Boaitey to Juventus’ Brazilian winger Douglas Costa for his movement, at least. And Barcelona, in particular, are ready to see if he can match that talent.
They’re ready to add him to their youth setup, with Patrick Kluivert, head of their youth department, a keen admirer.
What RTK has to say
Can’t say we’ve seen too much of Baker-Boaitey but it all sounds very positive. The signing would certainly fit in with Liverpool’s plans, too.
They brought in two teenagers last summer, after all, and appear to be building towards the future. If Sport 1 are right and there is a big fight on for the player, then we’d still back the Reds to come out on top.

They’ve proven their commitment to not only bringing players through but continuously developing them. On top of that, there’s an exciting young generation coming through at the club. You’d think that any youth signings would look at that with enthusiasm.
It’s not to say that the signing would be a sure thing, of course. But if Liverpool want the player, we’re confident they’ll get the player.
