Sadio Mane could leave Liverpool before too long, according to international teammate Keita Balde. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, however.

Senegal forward Keita Balde recently spoke about Mane to Spanish outlet AS. The question of Real Madrid came up, naturally, and Balde gave his thoughts.

“It depends on many things,” he said when asked if Real can tempt Mane. “I don’t know what his decision is. In a year or two, maybe he will want to change and I don’t think he wants to be there all his life.

“He is a smart boy and he knows what is good for him and what he has to do.”

Although, as he goes on to say, places link many names with a move to Real Madrid.

What RTK has to say

Balde doesn’t entirely what Mane is thinking but it’s no surprise that he could leave Liverpool. He’s 28 now, after all, and only has a few more years left at his peak.

Thus it’s very possible that over the next couple of years, he may push for a move elsewhere. Mane has jumped from club to club before and may see on more opportunity to do so.

Perhaps that’s for money, different trophies, or to sample something new – whatever the reason, he’ll only get one more chance, realistically, to do so at his peak.

Then take into account that Liverpool will need to rebuild soon. All of their key forwards are pushing 30 and they’ll have to bring in new players before long.

Age forces their hand and thus the club will be more open to selling the front three to free up space. That’s just the way football works – it’s always changing.

That’s not to say that Mane will leave. He may see out his career at Anfield. But the chance is always there, especially as he gets older.
