This summer Michael Edwards’ phone will be ringing off the hook. The much applauded sporting director will be bothering clubs around the world as he looks to shift his deadwood, bothering other clubs to take their top talents from them. Liverpool could end up sending two players to the same club with Sport 1 claiming that Loris Karius is wanted by Hertha Berlin.
The Reds have a good relationship with the German capital side.
Marko Grujic has been on loan at Hertha for two seasons now and there have been suggestions his stay could be made permanent over the summer.
Loris Karius on the other hand has struggled during his loan move Besiktas. The hapless German has been making even more mistakes in the Turkish Super Lig.
His unreliability has left Besiktas unlikely to take up their option to make the shot stopper’s loan move permanent.
Michael Edwards will therefore have to find a new home for the unfortunate keeper as he won’t be kept on at Anfield.
According to Sport 1, Loris Karius could be on his way to Hertha Berlin. It is claimed that the German side would be an attractive option given the fashionability of the city, his girlfriend is said to live in the city.
What RTK has to say
As long as he goes we don’t really care where.
Things didn’t work out with Loris and that’s unfortunate but we just need to make sure he doesn’t hang on to our wage budget.
Fingers crossed next season we’ll have the bank balance boosted by his sale and the money will be spent wisely elsewhere. Maybe Mickey Edwards will even do them a deal if they take Grujic off our hands too.
