Jurgen Klopp wants to turn young Belgian forward Jeremy Doku into the new Sadio Mane, according to reports.
Calciomercato make the claim in a report that says AC Milan also want Doku. 19/20 is the 17-year-old’s first senior season and he’s making some waves.
This isn’t the first time an outlet has named Liverpool, either – Nieuwsblad mentioned earlier in the month that the Reds have wanted Doku for a while.
Nieuwsblad also claimed that Anderlecht would want around £17.5m for their young talent. For a player Klopp apparently sees as the next Mane, that doesn’t seem bad at all.
What RTK has to say
Right now, signing the next ‘version’ of any Liverpool player is an exciting prospect. Mane, however, is near the top of the most-wanted list.
And if Klopp, above anyone, sees that Mane potential in Doku then Liverpool should try to sign him. Especially when there are so many great young talents already at the club.
Doku could join the likes of Ki-Jana Hoever, Curtis Jones, Neco Williams and Harvey Elliott in creating a new generation at Liverpool. Recently, we also named Eduardo Camavinga as a possibility to complete that jigsaw.
Doku would be another part of that jigsaw. Liverpool have a very successful template for success under Klopp and it’s now about finding the right players to carry it on.
From what we hear, Doku is exactly the kind of player the Reds need for that.
