Liverpool reportedly want Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz – and will rival Real Madrid and Bayern Munich for him.
This is according to Diario Madridista, who say Liverpool trail behind Real, who are the favourite to sign the Spaniard. The outlet also feels that Fabian would cost around £74m – a steep price.

Fabian, 23, has become a very impressive player for Napoli since moving there from Real Betis in 2018. The Italians reportedly paid his buyout clause – roughly £27m, per Football Italia.
No wonder, then, that they’d supposedly demand what would be nearly a club-record fee for Liverpool.
What RTK has to say
This isn’t the first time that Spanish media has linked Liverpool with Fabian. Last time it was both him and Real’s Isco – and we felt he looked a far better prospect than the latter.
And we stand by it. Fabian is a very, very good midfielder and one who could find a home in any team. He’s capable of playing high up the pitch and sitting deep, both valuable traits in a team like Liverpool, in particular.
The Reds like a versatile midfield who can help out wherever needed and Fabian certainly fits that bill. The fact that he’s 23 and already very experienced makes him a very exciting prospect, too.

But whether they should spend £74m on him is another argument entirely. It’s reported that you can get Kai Havertz for a similar amount, for instance, and we feel he’s just about perfect for Liverpool.
So as good as Fabian is and as useful as he may be, there might just be better options for that kind of money.
