The end of the Premier League may never come, fingers crossed it does so Liverpool can rightfully claim their crown. With the suspension of the league there is also no knowing when the PFA Awards will take place. Speaking about the gongs, Charlie Adam has said that he voted for a Liverpool duo for the PFA Awards.
Liverpool signed Charlie Adam from Blackpool in 2011, paying the seasiders a reported £7.5m for the midfielder.
The Scottish set piece master arrived with a big reputation, Sir Alex Ferguson once said that his corners are worth £10m alone.
His time at Anfield was a disappointment overall, though he was just one member of an incredibly disappointing Liverpool side that were transitioning from the majesty of Rafa Benitez to the exuberance of Brendan Rodgers via the purgatory of Roy Hodgson and a cleanup job from King Kenny.
Now at Championship side Reading, the midfielder revealed that he has voted for a Liverpool pair for the PFA Awards.
Responding to a post on Jose Enrique’s Instagram account wherein the Spaniard asked who people’s shouts are for the individual gongs, Adam wrote: “I voted for Hendo and TAA young player”.
What RTK has to say
There isn’t even a hint of bias in this, both players are thoroughly deserving of their votes.
Jordan Henderson has been the dynamo in midfield, driving The Reds into a 25 point lead at the top of the table.
Whilst Kopites had been singing his praises throughout the campaign, neutrals didn’t clock his importance until injury withdrew him from the side in February.
Trent for the young player award is surely the safest bet in sport at the minute, the Scouser has been immense, he has already matched the record he set last year for assists from a defender in a Premier League season.
