We can expect a lot of ins and outs at Anfield in the coming months. The Reds will be looking to replace a lot of their backup brigade whilst also adding variety to their first team. Recent reports have claimed that Real Madrid are hoping to sign Sadio Mane before the start of next season (whenever that may be). Kopites shouldn’t be worried.
Liverpool signed Mane back in 2016, paying Southampton £34m for the forward.
Since his arrival on Merseyside he has gone from strength to strength and is now one of the most feared wingers in world football.
The 2018/19 season saw Mane pick up one third of the Premier League Golden Boot, sharing the accolade with Mo Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
This season has been even better, up until recently he was the firm favourite for the PFA Player of the Year award but Jordan Henderson is now providing fierce competition.
The 2019/20 campaign has seen him bag 14 goals and 7 assists in the league, his scintillating form has prompted El Desmarque to report that Real Madrid are desperate to sign Sadio Mane.
Kopites shouldn’t be worried about Madrid signing Mane.
Firstly, he doesn’t want out. The Senegalese forward is happy where he is and why wouldn’t he be? He is a key member of the best team in the world.
Jürgen Klopp’s side are set to dominate world football for at least the next few years, why leave now?
Furthermore, if the unlikely happened and Madrid did sign Mane, we would get an obscene amount of money for him.
Michael Edwards is arguably the most coveted sporting director in the game at the moment, he would squeeze Los Blancos for every last penny and he would spend the money wisely. #Mbappe2020 anybody?
Whatever happens, we will be stronger next season – either we keep Mane and improve those around him or we sell him and buy big to replace him. Trust the process.
