Liverpool should sign Ruben Neves from Wolves - he'd be perfect

This summer we can expect some big moves from Liverpool. The Reds are in their strongest position in recent times, they’ve been posting record profits and have signed a lucrative kit deal with sportswear giants Nike. Deadwood will be shifted and top class variety will be added to the first team. We believe that Liverpool should sign Ruben Neves from Wolves, he’d be perfect.

Wolves first signed Ruben Neves back in 2017, paying Porto around £16m for the midfielder.

There was widespread confusion when the Midlands side managed to pull of the transfer, his addition was considered a massive coup for Wolves given the player’s growing reputation as one of the most promising midfielders in Europe.

Since arriving in England, Neves has gone from strength to strength. He has repeatedly scored worldies and has been a driving force behind Wolves’ impressive return to the top flight.

At the minute Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are in sixth place, just two points behind Manchester United in fifth – due to Manchester City’s UEFA ban fifth would be enough to secure Champions League qualification.

Liverpool should sign Ruben Neves over the summer, he would be the perfect number eight signing.

With Jordan Henderson heading into the prime of his career, it would be prudent to secure a 23-year-old successor.

Neves also bears some hallmarks of Steven Gerrard’s game: he scores big goals in big games and impressive goals at that.

The Portuguese midfielder has gained a reputation for his long range stunners but he is equally adept at winning the ball back in midfield and using it wisely.

Whilst at the minute he may not run as often as required under Jürgen Klopp, this is coachable.

It would take a lot of money to take him from Wolves but he would likely be worth every penny, we need a new long term option at the club to succeed Hendo and Gini Wijnaldum in the next few years.
