The world has gone mad. The football is off, there’s no pasta on the shelves, Mike Dean is being starved of attention. With the Premier League suspended and the question of how it will be resolved is up in the air. Manchester City journalist Stuart Brennan believes that Liverpool deserve the title not least because of the ‘brilliant’ Jürgen Klopp response to the crisis.
As it stands Liverpool have a 25 point gap at the top of the table, they need just one more game of football to secure the title – if they beat Manchester City then it’s over.
However, the league has been suspended until the start of April at the earliest. Whether or not the sport can resume at the appointed date remains to be seen.
There are a number of potential solutions to the footballing crisis being mooted, one option on the table is a 22 club Premier League next season.
The one question on everyone’s lips is: will Liverpool be awarded the title? After 30 years of hurt and the best season any team has ever played, will they be given it?

Stuart Brennan wrote in the Manchester Evening News that Jürgen Klopp and his side should be declared champions:
“Call the season off, and hand the Premier League title to Liverpool. They deserve it.
“And even if they didn’t deserve it, the response of manager Jurgen Klopp to the debate about what happens now absolutely does.
“The Scousers should not be denied. Everyone knows that…Liverpool have been the best team in the league this season, and nothing that could have happened between now and the final day would alter that.”
What RTK has to say
Nice one Stu.
As the days drag on, whether or not Liverpool will be duly rewarded for their painstaking efforts throughout the season remains to be seen.
Fingers crossed that level headedness prevails, Stuart Brennan has hit the nail on the head – nothing would change Liverpool being by far the best side in the division, of course there is relegation and the top four to think of but the title is incredibly clear cut.
