The Premier League didn’t stand a chance when Liverpool got into their groove this season. The Reds blew away all opposition and have subsequently opened up a 25 point gap at the top of the table. Amid growing health concerns, James Pearce has said that the Premier League ‘need to’ hand Liverpool the Premier League title early.
The emerging global panic has already started having an impact on sporting fixtures.
The Italian Serie A has already been suspended due to the panic, with Italy being the worst affected country in Europe.
With talks ongoing as to what the short term implications are for English football, Kopites are fearing for the worst with the club’s first title in 30 years now up for debate.
James Pearce has tweeted saying that the Premier League ‘need to’ present Liverpool with the trophy early in order to avoid the ceremony taking place behind closed doors.
If as expected the title is wrapped up in the next week or two then surely the Premier League will need to bring forward the trophy presentation rather than wait for Chelsea at home in May. #LFC

What RTK has to say
This is just the most terrifying thing in the world.
How Liverpool would it be to be on course for the best ever top flight season only to have the feat snatched away from them by a global health crisis?
I mean, come on.
That is just our luck. Of course, we just want this to be resolved as soon as possible and if it means that football has to take a back seat then so be it – we aren’t selfish enough to claim exception to decisions made in the interest of the public’s health.
Fingers crossed strides are taken soon that everybody is safe and healthy enough to watch Liverpool crowned champions.
