Liverpool have been miles better than every other side in England this season. Jürgen Klopp’s men have redefined expectations with their record breaking Premier League campaign. Despite lagging 25 points behind in second place, Raheem Sterling has warned Liverpool they should expect a ‘massive reaction’ from the Citizens.
Raheem Sterling signed for City back in 2015, with the Manchester club forking out £49m for the winger.
The Englishman has gone from strength to strength since his controversial move up the East Lancs road.
His transfer was mired in controversy due to his perceived forcing of the move and the disrespect his agent showed the club.
Now with the second placed Manchester City, the winger has spoken to Sky Sports about his side’s chances next season, saying:
“Liverpool have been far better than everyone in the league and have been consistent, that is why they are top of the league.
“We won the league twice in a row. Liverpool are winning, leading at this point in time.
“But I’m pretty sure that come the end of the season our boys will go away and come back again very hurt if they do pick up the league, and we will be up and running for next season for sure. [It will be] a massive reaction.”
What RTK has to say
The Reds couldn’t be less frightened of Manchester City at the minute.
Not only are our rivals 25 points behind us but they could be set to lose some of their best players over the summer due to their forthcoming UEFA ban.
If they are already 25 points behind with their strongest, most expensive ever squad, then where will they be when their top talents start heading off looking for Champions League football?
React all you want Raheem, you’ll likely be doing it from Madrid.
