Liverpool are one of the clubs everybody’s eyes will be on this summer. The Reds are tipped to make some big additions in the next transfer window with mountains of cash in reserve thanks to their recent frugality and new commercial deals. According to Bild in Germany, Liverpool won’t be signing Jude Bellingham with the player set to join Borussia Dortmund instead.
90Min are just one of a number of outlets to have reported that Liverpool are interested in Jude Bellingham.
The 16-year-old midfielder has become a mainstay in the Birmingham City first team.
He has made 24 starts in the Championship this season, despite his young age.
He also boasts an impressive four goals and two assists during these games, not a bad return for a lad still handing in homework.
Although The Reds were just one of a number of English sides linked with the teenage wonderkid, Bild in Germany believe that Borussia Dortmund are set to buy him for £30m, making him their club record signing.
What RTK has to say
This is no disaster.
Whilst signing Bellingham would have been a fantastic move for Liverpool, losing him to a foreign side is the next best option.
We must also consider that Borussia Dortmund aren’t shy of selling their top talents for the right money, we could well benefit from him gaining some first team experience there before joining The Reds later on in his career.
At least we haven’t lost the young lad to Manchester United – that would have been painful.
