This summer is sure to see some major incomings and outgoings at Anfield. With The Reds having spent no money in the last window and having signed a record breaking kit deal with Nike since, there is money to be spent. We believe that Liverpool should look at Odsonne Edouard ASAP if a new report is to be believed.
Edouard is just 22-years-old and is banging them in at Celtic.
The Glasgow giants signed the Frenchman for a club record £9m in 2018.
This campaign has been by far his most prolific in the Scottish Premiership.
The young striker has so far banged in 21 goals in 23 starts for Neil Lennon’s side, further to that he’s bagged 10 assists.
His record in Europe isn’t bad either, with three goals and two assists in six Europa League fixtures this campaign.
The Daily Record in Scotland have claimed that Celtic are opening a dialogue with the forward in an effort to get him tied down to a new long term contract.
These negotiations apparently come in the midst of interest from Leicester City.
With the club trying to get the forward to sign a new contract, and Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes looking at the striker – Liverpool need to start making a move for Odsonne Edouard ASAP.
He would be the ideal striker signing: he wouldn’t command a massive fee, he is just 22-years-old, his finishing ability is evidenced by his goals and his link up play is shown in his ten assists.
The Reds need a plan B up top. Edouard offers pace, an aerial threat, strength and poaching prowess. Whilst Timo Werner’s arrival seems to be a foregone conclusion, Edouard could also be an option should a spot open up. We just need to act fast.
