The transformation hasn’t been restricted to the pitch, an expert has tipped Liverpool to soon eclipse Manchester United in the Deloitte Money League table.
When FSG first took over at Anfield, the club was saddled with debt incurred during the Hicks-Gillette era.
Kopites to this day will tell you of their distaste (to put it lightly) for the duo that nearly put The Reds into administration during their ownership.
Thankfully, FSG have completely revamped the club’s fortunes on and off the pitch.
Recently we saw Liverpool sign a record breaking kit deal with sportswear giants Nike, with that deal serving to compliment the forthcoming Premier League triumph and last season’s Champions League win.
Following the release of the year’s financial reports, football money expert Kieran Maguire told the Blood Red Podcast that he expects Liverpool to soon overtake Manchester United in the Deloitte Money League table, saying:
“The gap is £94m, which sounds an awful lot, but United are expecting their income this year to drop by about £60m because they are not in the Champions League.
“I’d expect Liverpool’s income to go up this year because they have got new sponsorship deals and they’ve got the expansion of the stadium.
“They will never get a better chance to knock Manchester United off that Deloitte Money League perch.”

Their rivals up the East Lancs road have long been the financial powerhouse of English football, to overtake them in the money league would be a landmark of The Reds’ off the pitch revival.
FSG deserve a tremendous amount of credit for the way they’ve balanced the books since they bought the club.
Without their expert steering of the club off the pitch, we wouldn’t be enjoying the silverware we are at the minute.
