Liverpool have been having a season incomparable to anything the Premier League has ever seen before. The Reds have dropped just two points this campaign, taking 106 from their last 108 available. Alan Shearer has spoken highly of Liverpool and dismissed claims that their success is down to a weakening of the standard in the division.
The Reds are certain to lift the Premier League this season. At the moment they can afford to draw every one of their remaining games and still be crowned champions.
Their lead at the top currently amounts to 22 points. Many detractors have claimed that the only reason that Jürgen Klopp’s men have been able to open up such a chasm at the top is because the rest of the league have been poor – we disproved this a few days ago.
We aren’t the only ones looking to dismiss these claims. Alan Shearer has told Reuters that Liverpool are having a ‘freak season’, it’s nothing to do with the rest of the league – he is quoted as saying:
“In terms of competition, Liverpool have had a freak season. It would not surprise me at all if they went through the season undefeated just like Arsenal did.

“But I don’t think it’s a negative on the standard of the Premier League at all. It’s just Liverpool have been that good the others have found it difficult to keep up with them.”
What RTK has to say
Nice one, Al. The Reds have been unfairly disparaged by many bitter neutrals and rivals that refuse to accept that ‘the unbearables’ currently boast the best side that English football has ever seen.
The stats are undeniable. You cannot look past their truly astonishing numbers. No side has ever come close to 106 points from 108.
This side is one for the ages and the real football experts are aware of that fact, it seems like it may take some time for the bitter rivals to accept it.
