Tonight sees Liverpool take on Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano. The hosts may have faltered domestically this season but Jürgen Klopp‘s side still have a task on their hands. Diego Simeone has predicted that Liverpool will enter an explosive atmosphere.
The Reds journey to the Wanda Metropolitano in high spirits.
Jürgen Klopp has his strongest side available for the game and the lads will be relishing reliving their Champions League final win of last summer.
Further to that the team will be buoyed by a hard fought victory over Norwich City and the benefits of Manchester City’s forthcoming Champions League ban.
Speaking ahead of the game Diego Simeone was full of respect for Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp but he indicated that he will be relying on his fans to make it difficult, he told his pre-match press conference (via Liverpool ECHO):
“The truth is we prepare the games in the same way, even against the most powerful team in the world.
“This stadium is going to explode tomorrow. I really trust my players and our fans.”
What RTK has to say
Well he’s definitely aware of the task ahead of him with the gaffer referring to The Reds as ‘the most powerful team in the world’.
We can expect his predictions about the atmosphere to be spot on. Many teams this season have seen their fans get right behind them when they welcome Liverpool, with every rival fan wanting their team to be the ones that finally beat this invincible side.
Thankfully for us The Reds are the Mentality Monsters, the explosive atmosphere won’t be getting the better of them.
