This Liverpool side are certain to win the Premier League in record time. The Reds are 25 points clear of Manchester City in second place, Jürgen Klopp’s men could wrap up the title as early as March. This early success could have it’s detrimental effects according to Tony Cascarino, the pundit has tipped Liverpool to taste defeat after securing the title.

With the title now a foregone conclusion, whether or not The Reds will replicate Arsenal’s invincibles is the main concern for pundits and fans alike.

The Reds have already managed 43 games unbeaten, putting them six shy of Arsenal’s all time record of 49.

With 12 games yet to play there is the very real possibility that Jürgen Klopp’s men could better the Gooner’s streak and then some.

According to Tony Cascarino though, Liverpool could suffer from an early title win. The pundit told talkSPORT (15/02/2020 at 7:55 am):

“I think they will get beat, I have said it all along. My reason is purely down to that they’ll have the league done and dusted by the end of February.

“It’ll nearly be mathematically impossible for anyone to get them, and we aren’t far from that already and I think they’ll change their formation, their team because of the Champions League and I think they’ll get beat along the way.

What RTK has to say

We made the same shout last week.

The Reds are miles ahead, with retaining their Champions League crown sure to be a priority, when the title is sewn up we can expect Jürgen Klopp to rest key players at the weekend when we have European fixtures midweek.

Going a season invincible is merely a symbolic achievement. It would be no disaster if we were to taste defeat.

Winning the Premier League is enough for us, winning the Champions League as well would be the cherry on the icing on the cake.

We would rather do the double than simply win the league unbeaten.
