Tuesday night sees the resumption of Liverpool’s defence of their Champions League crown. The Reds will take on Diego Simeone’s side in a clash sure be a case of ‘who will blink first’. Here are three Atletico Madrid players Liverpool need to stop on Tuesday night:

Saul Niguez – Centre midfield
Saul is one of Atletico’s steeliest midfielders.
The Spaniard is adept at winning the ball back in the middle and recycling possession quickly.
In essence he is great at getting the ball back and making sure his side keep it, he has also chipped in with a couple of league goals this season.
Whoever wins the 50/50s out of him and Fabinho could set the tone for the match.
Koke – Centre midfield
Koke is one of the Madrid side’s main creative outlets.
Whilst he has played primarily in centre midfield this season he is equally comfortable on the right wing.
The midfielder tends to operate as a wide playmaker for his side, he has a pass completion of just shy of 90% in the Champions League this season.
Jordan Henderson will be closing him down ferociously, whether the Spaniard can cope with the pressure could determine the outcome of the game.
Angel Correa – Right wing / forward
Primarily a right winger, Correa has also filled in as a striker for the injury ridden Atletico this season.
The Argentinian has scored four and assisted five in La Liga this season.
Whilst he isn’t the most lethal of finishers he is incredibly tricky on the ball and hard to win to possession off.
Andy Robertson will have his hands full keeping his electric pace at bay.
