This summer is sure to be an exciting one to be a Liverpool fan. The Reds are certain to win the Premier League and have Nike money behind them. With all and sundry being linked with the club, a recent report from Russia has claimed that Liverpool could rival Chelsea for Quincy Promes of Ajax.
Promes has had a journeyed career in recent times.
The Dutch international spent four years tearing it up in Russia with Spartak Moscow before moving to Sevilla in 2018.
After just one year at Sevilla he was snapped up by Amsterdam giants Ajax last summer, with the Dutch club cash rich following the sales of Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt.
So far this season he has netted 11 goals in 16 league starts for the club, bagging four assists along the way.
According to Sport.ru in Russia, Liverpool and Chelsea are considering a summer move for Quincy Promes.
What RTK has to say
Not for us, Geoff.
Quincy Promes is 28-years-old, meaning he doesn’t at all fit the age bracket that Liverpool are likely to be looking at.
He would also cost a pretty penny given that he will have just finished his first season with Ajax in the summer.
Of course he is an incredible talent and he does fit Liverpool stylistically: he has bags of pace and is determined when out of possession, he also possesses great versatility which is of value to Jürgen Klopp.
However, we feel that his age and price tag is likely to be too big of a stumbling block for Michael Edwards and the recruitment team.
