Jurgen Klopp is the man in charge of Liverpool’s future but he will surely take the obvious youth route. It would be a missed opportunity if he didn’t.
The Reds have a very special crop of young players right now. They’re talented, the big occasion doesn’t faze them and they can play in the Liverpool style.
It’s a trifecta of opportunity and one that could define Liverpool’s future over the next ten years. But it’s not always that simple.
Teams often prefer to buy in their first team, thus eliminating the waiting period to see if a kid is good enough. It’s arguably more reliable but it does come with a cap.
Your team is never going to be flawless with that level of turnover. Players will come and go and the thread that holds them all together will disappear.

Liverpool and Klopp have a wonderful opportunity to keep that going with their youth, though.
This is a group of kids who look ready, both individually and for the team. Even if they have plenty of development left – and they certainly do – it’s clearly a special group of players.
The club really shouldn’t pass on them. The enticing chance to spend big on superstars will be there with the success the team is having. And that’s fine – sign them. But it’s got to be alongside bringing these youngsters through.
That way, Liverpool can maintain the club ethos and style through the players they’ve developed. It can keep this current period of success going for some time to come.
The kids only need chances – they’ve proven they can deliver. Hopefully, the club is willing to bet on them.
