Last season was heartbreaking for Kopites. The Reds finished the season on 97 points yet somehow didn’t win the league, falling just a point shy of Manchester City. This season has seen Jürgen Klopp‘s side put things right, they’re currently 16 points clear of City with a game in hand. Pep Guardiola has described Liverpool as “fantastic, phenomenal, overwhelming.”

Nobody could have expected The Reds to run away with the league in the manner that they have this season.

After falling just short in a titanic duel with the Citizens last time out, it has taken a lot of character for Jürgen Klopp’s men to come back better than ever, particularly given they haven’t made any first team signings.

Pep Guardiola has been overawed by the form Liverpool have shown this season.

The Spaniard told Sky Sports: “Liverpool are just fantastic, phenomenal, overwhelming. So we have to accept it and learn from that.”

What RTK has to say

Despite our constant jibes about him, Guardiola is a true giant of football.

The Spaniard will go down as one of the greatest managers of all time, he has marked the sport indelibly with the style of football he brought to the Nou Camp.

It is heartwarming to hear such a colossal figure so enamoured with the way Liverpool are playing, he has every right to be impressed.

Jürgen Klopp has put together a side that are breaking records for fun, it must be overwhelming having to chase a side setting such an incredible pace.

One thing we know for certain is that Pep won’t want to be repeating himself next year, he will spend big in the summer so that the title isn’t such an open and shut case next time out.
