This January transfer window has already seen two arrivals at Anfield. The Reds have brought in Takumi Minamino from RB Salzburg and Joe Hardy from Brentford. According to El Desmarque in Spain, Liverpool could be poised to bid for Isco from Real Madrid this month.

Isco has had a decorated career in the Spanish capital.

The attacking midfielder joined Los Blancos in 2013 after winning the 2012 European Golden Boy award for his Malaga performances.

In his time at the Santiago Bernabeu he has picked up four Champions League winners medals.

The 27-year-old has struggled for game time under Zinedine Zidane this season, Isco has made just six starts in the Spanish La Liga, notching just 522 minutes in total.

Such a talented player would obviously be open to securing more playing time elsewhere.

According to El Desmarque, Jürgen Klopp is weighing up a €70m Liverpool bid for Isco before the winter window shuts.

What RTK has to say

Not for us Geoff.

€70m is a lot to spend on a player that can’t get into a squad inferior to our own.

This is a Real Madrid side that didn’t even make the semi finals of the Champions League that The Reds won last season.

Los Blancos may not have room for him but neither do Liverpool.

Jürgen Klopp’s midfield is already stacked with talent and if Naby Keita manages to return to full fitness then we’ve no need for an attacking midfielder.

There is also the age factor. We are unlikely to spend big on any player over the age of 25. The Reds first team are all tied down to long term contracts, any new signings are likely to be young talents to be blooded into the squad for the future.
