"Not for sale": Liverpool and Arsenal fans react to Martinelli rumour

The Reds have been buying up some of the brightest young talents in the world of late. Harvey Elliott and Sepp Van Den Berg were wanted by the continent’s biggest clubs but they arrived at Anfield. According to Football Insider, Liverpool are now after Gabriel Martinelli from Arsenal.

The 18-year-old Brazilian forward has been incredibly impressive for The Gunners in his debut season.

Kopites will remember him well from his brace in the manic 5-5 League Cup game at Anfield in October.

The teenager has been particularly impressive in European competition, bagging three goals and two assists in four starts.

In the Premier League the he has netted three goals in five starts, most recently scoring his side’s second at Stamford Bridge in a 2-2 draw with Chelsea.

With Football Insider reporting that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Gabriel Martinelli, Kopites and Gooners have had their say on Twitter.

One Kopite joked that he’s the perfect backup striker – sure to rile North London fans.

This Arsenal supporter put it in no uncertain terms.

So a Liverpool fan asked the question – how much?

And he got a pretty absurd answer.

Liverpool are just picking on Arsenal now, we really do need to leave them alone.

We’ve already started making the connections – remember Klopp’s reaction to his Anfield goals?

Some Kopites still haven’t got over the infamous Luis Suarez bid from years ago.

And of course, some Liverpool fans just aren’t interested – there’s only one player they want to see brought in.
