Liverpool will sign a forward in the next six months. At the minute there is no world class cover for the front three, meaning they are having to play far too much football and we are susceptible to injuries. According to El Desmarque, Liverpool have a “pre-agreement” to sign Timo Werner in the summer.

Werner has established himself as one of the hottest prospects in football this season.

The 23-year-old is currently the top scorer in the German Bundesliga with 20 goals.

Whilst Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski also has 20 goals to his name, Werner takes top spot by virtue of a better goals per minute ratio.

Werner also has six assists in comparison to Lewandowski’s two assists.

RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann has previously admitted that he won’t stand in the way if the striker wants to leave for a bigger club in the future.

El Desmarque has reported that Liverpool already have a pre-agreement to sign Timo Werner in the summer, claiming that he will consume £51m of a £170m budget afforded to Jürgen Klopp for summer buys.

What RTK has to say

This story will rumble on and on until he moves somewhere.

Liverpool are desperate for offensive reinforcements, the question is now how much are we willing to pay.

Kylian Mbappe has been ever linked with a move to Merseyside but he is likely too expensive.

At £51m Timo Werner appears to be a relative snip given his goals to game ratio and his age.

There is also the added benefit that RB Leipzig are a high pressing, intense side to play in.

The style of football that Werner is used to playing would stand him in good stead for his transition to life at Anfield.
