Sky Sports claim that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Leeds United defender Ben White. The centre-half is on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Reds aren’t the only ones, though. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are also monitoring White, who won a vote on Sky Sports as the Championship’s Best Young Player.

There’s apparently no exit clause in the loan, so White wouldn’t be joining anyone without Leeds’ approval. While Sky say that Liverpool definitely don’t intend to act on any interest this month.
What RTK has to say
White is having a great season at Leeds this season, as his win in that Sky vote shows. That form means the 22-year-old certainly looks likely to play Premier League football next season.
Whether that be at Brighton remains to be seen and teams appear to be queuing up to test their resolve to keep White.
As for what Liverpool are thinking, White would be a part of the next era at Liverpool. He’s the ideal age to arrive in a squad role with room for progression and the potential for a partnership with Joe Gomez, also 22, is clear.
He’s also playing under a fine manager in Marcelo Bielsa and one whose style suits the development of potential Liverpool players.

With Dejan Lovren turning 31 this summer, the Reds do need a centre-half to replace him. Whether White jumps straight from Leeds to Liverpool might depend on Nathaniel Phillips then. If Phillips can prove this season that he can step up, that position is his.
But if he can’t, then White ticks the boxes Liverpool are looking for.
