Stats say Liverpool will win the title at Goodison Park

If Liverpool win the league this season it will be an historic day for Kopites. We have gone 30 years without a top flight title, being crowned Champions of England once again would be a moment to savour. The win could get even better though, according to SportingIntel, Liverpool could win the title at Goodison Park and get a guard of honour at the Etihad.

The Reds are miles ahead at the moment. Liverpool have put themselves 13 points clear of Leicester City in second place and 14 clear of Manchester City in third, boasting a game in hand over each side.

According to Nick Harris at SportingIntel – if the top three continue to amass points at their current rate, Liverpool will win the title at Goodison Park in March.

The game is scheduled for the weekend of the 14th-15th of March, meaning that Jürgen Klopp’s side would smash the current record for the earliest title win by a month.

With the Reds set to take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium just a fortnight after the journey to Goodison Park, we would also likely see Liverpool given a guard of honour by Manchester City.

What RTK has to say

Ok, Liverpool winning the league at Goodison Park and being given a guard of honour by Manchester City is just about the perfect way to win the title, the only way to improve this would be Steven Gerrard scoring the winner somehow.

My Revenge On Ben Foster

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that Man City will continue to drop points at the rate that they have in the first half of the season. The Blues have been without Aymeric Laporte for much of the campaign and we can expect them to cut down on the amount of games they’re losing with the Frenchman back in the side.

We can dream though lads, we can dream. It’s ours to lose, the question is – where will we win it?
