It is Liverpool’s last game of the year. What a year it has been. The Reds have been crowned champions of Europe, champions of the world and have put themselves in a strong position to be crowned champions of England in 2020. Charlie Nicholas has tipped Liverpool to beat Wolves in their final game of the decade.

Both sides enter the game high off impressive victories. Jürgen Klopp’s men put on a masterclass to beat second placed Leicester City in midweek. The Reds ran out 4-0 winners at the King Power stadium, goals from Roberto Firmino, James Milner and Trent Alexander-Arnold secured the win for the champions elect.

Wolverhampton Wanderers put yet another nail in the coffin of Manchester City’s title bid. The reigning champions were beaten 3-2 at Molineux. Ederson was sent of after 12 minutes but the Blues edged into a 2-0 lead. However, a spirited comeback by the home side left City a massive 14 points behind the leaders.

Charlie Nicholas has predicted Liverpool will come out on top against Wolves in a high scoring affair. Nicholas told Sky Sports:

“It will be more of a test than what Leicester was. Liverpool are just gliding along…You always have the danger of the front three and the Liverpool midfield is strong too. Their performance at Leicester was breathtaking, but they are at ease with themselves and the 13-point gap they currently hold. It will be another high-scoring affair.”

What RTK has to say

Charlie Nicholas predicted Liverpool will beat Wolves 3-2 but that seems a bit optimistic from a Midlands perspective. The Reds have kept six clean sheets in eight games this month and we have seen that Virgil van Dijk can keep up with the pace and power of Adama Traore.

With Jürgen Klopp’s men showing an astounding maturity of late, a goalless draw is more likely than the Reds conceding twice. We can see this ending 3-0 to the Reds.
