Many Liverpool supporters have called for Jurgen Klopp to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore after the Spaniard helped inspire the Midlands side to a miraculous 3-2 victory against Manchester City.

Traore, 23, scored and assisted another as Nuno Espirito Santo’s team fought back from 2-0 down to inflict City’s fifth league defeat of the season. The Portuguese manager also became the first head-coach since Antonio Conte to record a Premier League double over Pep Guardiola.

Goals from Traore, Raul Jimenez and Matt Doherty completed the comeback to move Wolves within one point of fourth-placed Chelsea. The result leaves the Citizens 14 points off of runaway leaders Liverpool – having played a game more than Klopp’s team.

The European champions are also 13 points clear of Leicester City having thrashed Brendan Rodgers’ team 4-0 on Boxing Day. Liverpool have claimed 52 points from a possible 54 and have only dropped two points since March.

Following Wolves’ victory, many Kopites took to Twitter to urge Klopp to consider a move for the Spanish powerhouse. Traore has scored five league goals this season – three of them against City – whilst also boasting seven assists.

The former Middlesborough star has been one of the Premier League’s standout performers in recent months following a difficult inaugural campaign after joining Wolves for a club-record £18 million in the summer of 2018

Traore’s undeniable quality alongside his relentless power and blistering speed is finally coming to fruition following his man-of-the-match display against the Premier League champions. The former Aston Villa forward scored a cracking strike to claw Wolves back into the game before outmuscling Benjamin Mendy to put the equaliser on a plate for Jimenez.

His impact against the back-to-back league winners has greatly benefited Liverpool in terms of the gap at the top, so much so, many Liverpool fans think the former Barcelona wide-man should be considered for a January bid.
