Liverpool have become the most effective side in the transfer market in recent seasons. Michael Edwards has been recruiting hidden gems for a fraction of what his Premier League rivals have been paying for flops. Micky Edwards has done it again this December; Peter Crouch has been drooling over the Takumi Minamino signing.
The Reds confirmed the £7.25m signing of Takumi Minamino last week. The Red Bull Salzburg man becomes the first Japanese footballer to play for Liverpool.
He impressed in both legs of the Reds’ Champions League clashes with Red Bull Salzburg, scoring at Anfield and terrorising us on the final matchday.
Peter Crouch is over the moon with the Takumi Minamino signing, writing in the Daily Mail:
“Whenever I have watched Salzburg, though, the two players who have stood out are Takumi Minamino and Hwang Hee-chan and Liverpool appear to have pulled off a masterstroke by signing the Japan midfielder Minamino for £7.25million. That, believe me, is a bargain. Minamino is absolutely made for Liverpool’s aggressive, fast style under Jurgen Klopp. He is a welcome addition to the Premier League.”
What RTK has to say
We have landed Minamino for a fraction of what he is worth, no matter which way you look at it.
Kopites can also rest assured in the knowledge that our recruitment team haven’t put a foot wrong in recent seasons. Peter Crouch is right about Takumi Minamino being the right fit for Liverpool.
We wrote back in October about how we believed him to be a perfect Klopp signing, his work rate off the ball and quick feet on it make him an ideal Liverpool player.
