This has been a monumental fortnight in the history of Liverpool football club. The Reds have tied down Jürgen Klopp and James Milner to new deals, they have paid a pittance for Takumi Minamino and they have been crowned world champions. It is safe to say that Twitter has been congratulatory of Liverpool winning the Club World Cup.

The Reds reached the final by winning the Champions League and beating Mexican side Monterrey in the semi finals in Qatar.

The decisive game was against Flamengo. The Copa Libertadores champions were desperate for the crown. Flamengo fans to this day still sing about their 1981 win over the Reds in what was then known as the Intercontinental Cup.

An extra time Bobby Firmino winner separated the two sides in what was a hard fought victory. Liverpool have won the Club World Cup, they have earned that golden badge. Twitter has lapped it up.

One Red was excited to see the captain’s signature trophy lift once more before the end of the year.

This supporter was adamant that the victory showed that Liverpool are no longer a stepping stone, this trophy was just further confirmation of the fact.

And one fan sought to rub it in the noses of those that have treated Anfield as a stepping stone in recent years.

Anfield Watch pointed out that the Reds have made history with their win.

Whilst a neutral heaped praise on Jürgen’s Reds.

And of course, we mustn’t forget, winning has become a habit for Liverpool this year…
