This week saw Manchester United and Manchester City get through their difficult League Cup games against…Colchester and Oxford. Well done lads, truly – well done. The pair were inevitably drawn together in the semi finals. Speaking about the tie, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer referred to Manchester City as the best team in England.
The pair recently faced off at The Etihad stadium, United ran out 2-1 winners over Pep Guardiola’s side – a defeat that left Manchester City an incredible 14 points behind leaders Liverpool.
The Manchester rivals are now set to take each other on twice more in the New Year in a two legged League Cup semi final. The Reds were knocked out of the competition as they were too busy reaching the World Cup final.
“We played well against them but there’s things we need to improve on. It will be two fantastic nights in Manchester. Of course, we do really respect them and, as I said after the game at the derby last time, it’s in my opinion the best team in England. They can out football you, so we need to get our game heads on and be ready for them again but we’ve shown them that we can cause them problems, so I think they’ll be two fantastic games.”

What RTK has to say
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has called Manchester City the best side in England despite the fact that he beat them away and couldn’t beat Liverpool at home. That adds up Ole.
The fact of the matter is that City are still English champions, for now at least. The Reds look set to lift their first title in 30 years this season – Jürgen Klopp has a 10 point lead over Leicester City, a 14 point lead over Manchester City and a 25 point lead over Manchester United.
Whilst Ole may not think so, not only are Jürgen’s Reds the best side in the country, they are one of the best sides the game has seen in recent decades.
