With the midway point of the season approaching and the transfer window set to open imminently, the gossip columns have become flooded with potential incomings and outgoings. Goal have reported that Leeds United are hoping to take Curtis Jones and Rhian Brewster on loan from Liverpool.
Curtis Jones has been a bright spark whenever he has stepped into the first team. The Scouser made his Premier League debut against Bournemouth in December, coming on for Andy Robertson towards the end of the game.
The 18-year-old midfielder impressed as he played the full 90 minutes when the Reds took on Arsenal in the League Cup, it was Jones that scored the winning penalty to send Liverpool through.
Rhian Brewster is one of the most highly rated prospects at the club but he is yet to force himself into the first team. Goal believe that Leeds United will move to take Curtis Jones and Rhian Brewster on loan until the end of the season.
What RTK has to say
This could be very positive news for all involved. If Leeds do bag the young Liverpool duo they would be getting two incredibly highly thought of youngsters.
We have seen from Jones’ superlative cup performances that he is ready for first team football, he just can’t get it regularly at Liverpool just yet. We have a title to win and can’t risk rotating the team more than is necessary.
With Liverpool now eliminated from the League Cup there will be less chances for Brewster and Jones at Anfield. If we ship them out to the Championship they can gain some vital first team minutes.
