There can be few hotter prospects in world football than Erling Håland. The Norwegian forward has been banging them in for RB Salzburg and has been breaking Champions League records with ease. The Express reported that Liverpool were just one of a number of clubs interested in Erling Håland. According to an article in The Star, the 19-year-old has chosen Manchester United as his preferred destination.

Erling’s dad, Alf-Inge Håland has previous in England. Håland Senior played for United’s arch nemesis Manchester City. His Dad has previously said that his son is desperate to play in the Premier League at some point in his career.

It appears that he may reach the English top flight sooner rather than later. The Star have alleged that the wonderkid is keen to be part of the rebuild at Old Trafford and would like to reunite with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – the pair worked together at Molde.

What RTK has to say

If Liverpool don’t sign Erling Håland it’s far from a disaster. Yes he has scored 41 goals in 28 games this campaign but he did come up short when it mattered – against us.

The youngster will surely be one of the brightest talents on his generation but he doesn’t fit our current system. He must be aware that if he were to move to Merseyside he would no longer be the star man and he would often find himself sitting out.

Whilst Håland is a terrific finisher he does not offer enough in the build up to warrant a place in the Reds lineup. Roberto Firmino is one of our chief creators, the Norwegian would have to add a lot to his game to merit replacing Bobby in the starting XI.

If Manchester United want him, they can have him. If his reported £20m release clause is all it takes then fine, it’ll take a lot more than a teen sensation to dislodge Liverpool from the top of the league.
