The Japanese footballer plays for Red Bull Salzburg. He is incredibly versatile, he can play as a 10 or on either wing, he can also play in a deeper role if needed.
Liverpool fans are well aware of the talented front man. He ran us ragged across two Champions League group stage games, Minamino scored at Anfield and looked threatening in the reverse leg.
According to James Pearce, Liverpool can bag Takumi Minamino for a measly £7.25m thanks to a release clause in his contract.
He would be yet another example of the Reds buying smart. He is just 24-years-old and would represent enormous value for money.

This reporter was very impressed by the Japanese’s showing in the Champions League against the Reds.
Impressed by Minamino (and Hwang) when Salzburg played #LFC. Quick, sharp, clever and classy. And can play multiple positions. Clearly made an impression on Klopp as well.
No wonder he said he “loves what they are doing” afterwards!

Another Liverpool fan is over the moon that once again we haven’t gone for the obvious buy and we’ve instead targeted the value signing.
While all of Europe were jizzing their pants over that tap in fraud Haaland, we’ve moonwalked right in and set up a deal for Salzburg’s proper talent Minamino for £7m.
Mickey Edwards does it again.

This supporter joked that this was the precise moment that our gaffer knew Liverpool would sign Minamino.
Rumour has it, it was at this exact moment, when Minamino smashes in a volley at Anfield, that Klopp knew… pic.twitter.com/3430S9Gv7o
