On Tuesday evening Liverpool play one of their most important fixtures of the season so far. The Reds travel to Austria to take on Red Bull Salzburg in the their final Champions League group stage match. A win sees Jürgen Klopp top the group, a draw sees us through, a loss nearly guarantees dropping into the Europa League. Erling Håland has issued Liverpool a stark warning ahead of the crunch clash.
The 19-year-old phenomenon has been one of the major talking points of this year’s Champions League, netting eight goals in five games. He has 16 goals in 11 starts in the Austrian Bundesliga.
Speaking at Salzburg’s pre-match press conference, Håland told the media:
“We have nothing to lose. We are going out and having fun. We can smile and have fun. This is the biggest game of my career so far and I will enjoy it. I am sure we will score tomorrow. Liverpool are a fantastic team, but we are also a fantastic team. We create a lot of chances and I am sure we will attack in the match.”
What RTK has to say
Erling Håland has issued a bold warning to Liverpool but he may be proved right. Jesse Marsch’s free scoring Austrian champions are impressive going forward but leaky in defence.
The Express have reported that Erling Håland is a Liverpool target. The Norwegian is wanted by pretty much every top club in Europe, if he is on form against the continent’s champions then he will likely see interest in his services sky rocket.
We can rest assured that if the prodigious forward does score tomorrow, his defence is likely to let him down. The Reds are one of the best counter attacking sides in the world, with RB Salzburg having to score we can catch them on the break.
