Liverpool forward Divock Origi has struggled for game time so far this season.
The Belgian striker has made 11 appearances, but they have primarily come from the bench.
So far, he has just one Premier League goal to his name and will be anxious to change that.
Origi should get the chance to add to his tally against Everton, here’s why.
The previous performances of Origi in this fixture have been some of his best football. Since joining Liverpool, he has scored three times against Everton which is his best return against any Premier League team. Last season he pounced on Jordan Pickford’s mistake to head home late Reds winner. Before that he scored in the 2016 and 2017 fixture at Anfield.

Needs game time
The 24-year-old is in desperate need of proper game time. For too long he has been Liverpool’s super-sub but at some point, he must force his way into the first team. The upcoming busy Christmas schedule begins with the Merseyside derby at Anfield. He’ll certainly get minutes over the next month but Origi needs them in competitive Premier League football rather than competitions such as the Carabao Cup or the World Club Cup.
Salah fitness concerns
Mohamed Salah is not fully fit right now. The Egyptian forward is in desperate need of time to rest up. That’s easier said then done when Liverpool are fighting a ridiculous schedule right now. At some point Jurgen Klopp just needs to bite the bullet and take Salah out the side for more than one game. Now would be the best time to do that as the longer he continues to play on his injury the more likely he is the make it even worse. Origi can fill in against Everton and hopefully continue his fine form we have previously seen against the Toffees.
