It was Ali that saved us in this fixture last year, denying the Italians a crucial goal at the death.
Right back: Joe Gomez – 6.5
JoGo is solid at the back but the absence of Trent Alexander-Arnold was glaring when we were in possession.
Centre back: Virgil van Dijk – 7
Big Virg was solid as usual and unlucky to be absent for the Napoli goal.
Centre back: Dejan Lovren – 8
Found wanting for the Napoli goal but more than made up for it with a brilliant header.
Left back: Andy Robertson – 7
A few questionable decisions but Robbo was pretty impressive throughout. Never dips below a 7.
Centre midfield: Gini Wijnaldum – 7
Industrious and determined as ever if not producing the spectacular.
Centre midfield: James Milner – 7
Milly worked his socks off again.
Centre midfield: Jordan Henderson – 8
Jord was moved about the pitch but led by example with his work rate.
Right wing: Mo Salah – 6.5
Not his best by any means. One good chance was hit straight at the keeper, he didn’t see much of the ball in threatening areas.
Striker: Bobby Firmino – 7
Bobby was inventive and unlucky not to score.
Left wing: Sadio Mane – 7
Mane was hounding defenders as usual.
Substitute: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 8
Changed the game when he came on with his quick use of the ball.
Substitute: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6
Didn’t have time to impact the game.
