This week has seen rumours gathering pace that Rhian Brewster will be heading out on loan in January. The Star reported that there are at least four clubs interested in borrowing the forward. Upon hearing the news, retired striker Noel Whelan has said that Rhian Brewster would be a “perfect” signing for Leeds United.

Speaking to Football Insider, Whelan said:
“I’d love him at Leeds, he is young, hungry, exciting, well spoken about by Jurgen Klopp. If we could pull that deal out of the bag in January, wow, perfect. It would be a great deal for us. He would offer something a bit different to what we’ve already got. If we can get someone like Rhian Brewster, that would give us three proper centre-forwards who can be rotated as and when needed. You need three strikers in case of injuries and suspensions if you’re going for promotion.”
What RTK has to say
Rhian Brewster heading to Leeds United on loan was our preference when we ranked his potential destinations.
Playing for a huge club like Leeds would be a vital experience for the young lad. Furthermore, the Yorkshire side are competing for promotion and are very much in a title race.
Experience playing in a closely fought race for top spot will also be crucial to Brewster’s development. Playing under a world leading coach in Marcelo Bielsa will also prove an enticing prospect for Vitor Matos – Liverpool’s elite development coach.
Fingers crossed Noel Whelan gets his wish and Leeds manage to take the 19-year-old on loan in January. If the Englishman does move then it would likely trigger a midseason arrival for Jürgen Klopp as he would be left without much offensive depth.
