Bayern Munich are in disarray at the moment. The Bavarian giants are fourth in the Bundesliga and without a manager. Niko Kovac was sacked earlier this month after an embarrassing 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. Liverpool fans should be concerned about the situation at Bayern Munich – it could have a large bearing on Jürgen Klopp‘s future.
There is no danger of Bayern hiring our beloved Jürgen just yet. The German side are rumoured to be in talks with Arsene Wenger among others. The Frenchman has been without a job since leaving Arsenal in 2018. Another name being bandied about is former Liverpool hero Xabi Alonso.
If the next manager at the Allianz Arena doesn’t pull off the success that the board are looking for, it could be bad news for Kopites.
There has been much speculation about the future of Jürgen Klopp, his contract is set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 season. Many believe that he will take a sabbatical at the end of his contract at Anfield.
However, in the past he has hinted at move to Bayern at some point in his career. He joked in a video message to Sport Bild that he would liked to manage Germany, Bayern Munich and then back to Dortmund and Liverpool for life.
Whilst there is no confirmation as to whether Klopp will call it a day at Anfield when his contract is up, there is great concern that his deal is yet to be extended. Although, Pep Lijnders looks as though he will be ready to step into the gaffer’s shoes when the time comes.
Liverpool fans should have one eye on the fortunes of Bayern Munich in the next couple of seasons. The boss wants to return home one day, let’s just hope that the next Munich boss is doing too good of a job to give him the chance.
