A report in the Daily Mail has suggested that City are preparing to spend £100m in January. The Citizens have already suffered three defeats this season and last weekend’s humiliation at Anfield appears to have been the final straw.

Guardiola is reportedly looking to find replacements for Vincent Kompany, David Silva and Sergio Aguero as he endeavours to rescue the Blues’ season.

What RTK has to say

This rumour just serves to highlight Liverpool’s dominance at the moment. It also serves as another stark reminder in the difference in culture between the two clubs.

Jürgen Klopp’s side would never dream of going out and spending vasts amount of money after a bad defeat, especially without raising that money through player sales.

The fact that the Anfield club have put themselves so far out of Manchester City’s grasp that they are looking to panic buy players to the tune of £100m is incredibly telling. The tide has definitely, finally shifted in the Premier League.

When Klopp first arrived on Merseyside we were in total disarray, we finished eighth in the German’s first season in charge. Just four years later and Liverpool’s dominance is such that our rivals are having to throw obscene sums of money just to catch up. If Sunday proved anything it was that money can’t help you when you are facing Liverpool.
