It is a day that will go down in infamy for Kopites. Liverpool made the short trip up to Old Trafford only to be robbed of three points by Martin Atkinson. In the build up to the goal which handed Man United a point, Victor Lindelof clearly fouled Divock Origi yet nothing was given. The referee made a series of horrendous errors throughout the game which prevented Liverpool from ever maintaining any rhythm to their play. Piers Morgan has had his say on the Liverpool heartache.
Let’s get this straight before we dive in: Piers Morgan isn’t welcome in Liverpool. However, he is awarded a small nod of the head for his comments on Martin Atkinson’s incompetence. Though, we should bare in mind that anybody with an ounce of footballing knowledge would come to the same conclusion and his comments about the Sadio Mane goal are, sadly, incorrect.
Morgan tweeted during the game that he believes Martin Atkinson got it wrong when he didn’t blow up for a foul on Divock Origi in the build up to Marcus Rashford’s goal. He also proceeded to assert that Mane’s goal should have stood, this is simply not the case, football fans want consistency in decisions – Gabriel Jesus’ late equaliser against Spurs was ruled out for the same reason.
United’s goal came after a clear foul on Origi. Liverpool’s disallowed goal came after a clearly accidental use of an arm by Mane.
VAR doesn’t just suck the life & passion out of football – it’s almost invariably wrong too. Get rid of it.— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) October 20, 2019
These Reds thought that we were up against 13 men.
pretty sure the mancs had the ref and the whole VAR+officials team on loan for 1 match

Three VAR decisions, all going United’s way. Atkinson blew at every fucking chance he could for United too. Bias too obvious.

Another Kopite hinted at conspiracy.
Not enough because it would mean united would lose. The FA can’t have that.

Whilst this Liverpool fan wanted to make sure any conspiracies that the Reds are getting help are put to bed.
I don’t EVER want to hear anyone say that the Premier League and VAR want Liverpool to win the league ever again.
Origi fouled. Not given.
Origi down inured. Ignored.
James down injured. Game stopped.
Fabinho booked. 2 United players not.1-1 against 13 men. I’ll take that 👍

One Red took aim at Martin Atkinson.
Referee is an absolute disgrace. Origi gets fouled by Lindelof in the buildup for United’s goal and it’s not overruled. Shocking.

Famous Reds author Paul Tomkinson pointed out that even Gary Neville thought it was a foul.
Atkinson had ignored fouls on Origi and Mané before Origi was fouled. He’s a fucking disgrace. VAR then ignores what Gary Neville calls a clear foul. Liverpool have to overcome clear bias against black foreign players by refs.
