Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has claimed Liverpool lost the Premier League title at Old Trafford last season.
The retired midfielder has attempted to taunt Reds fans by claiming last season’s 0-0 draw against his former side cost Liverpool dearly.
Speaking to BBC 5 live, he said. “Liverpool missed a big chance to win at Old Trafford last year; you could argue they blew the league at Old Trafford last year.
“United were really struggling at the time with injuries, very much as they are this year. After maybe half an hour they had to make the three subs, and Liverpool were really poor on the day.”
The game in question came in late February this year. Liverpool began the new year with one defeat and four draws in the first nine Premier League games. A minor blip on an otherwise perfect season from the Reds cost us dearly.
Old Trafford is always a difficult place to go, no matter how poor Manchester United have been lately.
Liverpool dropped points in far more easy or crucial games during that period. While our only loss away at Manchester City literally gave our rivals the points, they needed to claim the league.
Manchester United legend Scholes is just a bitter fan desperate to see Liverpool fail.
