Is it happening? It could actually be happening. Liverpool…may actually be about to win the Premier League. Kopites have waited 30 years for a top flight title and the wait could finally be over. The Reds are currently 8 points clear at the top of the table after 8 games, a record lead at this stage of the season. After finishing just 1 point shy of the title last time out, suffering only 1 defeat in the process, many pundits tipped the Reds to go one better this campaign. Liverpool could sew up the Premier League title within the next 4 weeks.

In the next month, Liverpool face United away, Spurs at home and Aston Villa away before welcoming title rivals Manchester City to Anfield. In the same time, Man City travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace and play successive home ties against Aston Villa and Southampton before travelling to Anfield.

Liverpool are more than capable of taking 9 points from their next 3 Premier League games, if they take the first 6 then they will set a record for consecutive wins in the league. Spurs have had an inconsistent start to the season and recently lost 7-2 at home to Bayern Munich.

Crystal Palace is never an easy away game and Roy Hodgson has the Eagles performing above expectations in the league this season, the London side are just 2 points behind Pep Guardiola’s champions.

Liverpool will likely be favourites going into the 6 pointer at Anfield. One fact that swings in Liverpool’s favour is that in the week leading up to the crunch tie, the Reds have a home game against Genk on the Tuesday whilst Man City have to play Atalanta away on the Wednesday. Jürgen Klopp will have an extra day to prepare and an easier task on their hands in Europe. With City having to travel and face tough opposition, coming up against an intense Liverpool side will prove a difficult task.

If the Reds win these 4 games, then Liverpool will have sewn up the Premier League as they will boast a lead of at least 11 points after just 12 games.
