Manchester United are still our biggest rivals despite being in free fall of late. Old Trafford has historically been a tough place for Liverpool to get points.

Brendan Rodgers’ title-chasing Liverpool were the last Reds side to emerge with a win at Old Trafford.
Everything went Liverpool’s way on the day, with referee Mark Clattenburg awarding three penalties to the Reds. Steven Gerrard netted two of them before missing the third. Luis Suarez continued his electric form by completing the scoring late on for Liverpool’s last win at Old Trafford.

Manchester United 1 – 4 Liverpool (14 March 2009)
Five years previously, Liverpool got a famous win at Old Trafford. This win came against the last great United team as the two sides went head-to-head for the Premier League title. This big win had seemed to tip the balance in Liverpool’s favour but the hosts eventually claimed the title.
Fernando Torres, Steven Gerrard, Fabio Aurelio and Andrea Dossena all got in on the goals in huge week that also saw Rafa Benetiz’s side thump Real Madrid 4-0 at Anfield.

More than five years prior, Liverpool emerged victorious from Old Trafford. A Danny Murphy penalty was all it took to see off the Red Devils on their own turf.
A Manchester United team featuring the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, Roy Keane, Gary Neville and current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer fell to defeat against the Reds.
