How Liverpool can improve despite unstoppable form

Liverpool are absolutely unstoppable at the minute. The Champions of Europe are on a winning streak that stretches back to last season. Jürgen Klopp’s side are 8 points clear at the top of the table after 8 games, a Premier League record lead. Despite the Reds looking in their best form of the modern era, they can still get better. Here are 3 ways that Liverpool can improve on their unstoppable form:

Plan B

One criticism of the Reds is that we only have one way of playing. It has been incredibly successful but there will come a day when a side has an answer for everything we throw at them. We need a plan B. At the minute the Reds lack any target striker if we need to lump balls into the box, we also don’t have a poacher at our disposal. Whilst our front 3 are all deadly on their day, sometimes you need a fox in the box or a towering striker to win the first ball.

Squad depth

Man City currently have 2 world class players in every position, the Reds do not have the same luxury. A couple of injuries could completely derail Liverpool’s season. Jürgen Klopp needs to invest heavily in squad depth in order to ensure that our starting XI are fully rested for big games and have competition for places.

Midfield spark

Since the departure of Philippe Coutinho and the injury of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Liverpool have lacked a creative spark in the middle of the field. Jordan Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum are both capable ball winners and refuse to ever let their opposition settle in possession but they lack the flair that a top side needs. Naby Keita promised to bring these moments of magic when he arrived from Germany but injuries have blighted his Anfield career. Liverpool can improve with a new creative force in the middle which could see our front 3 score an untold amount of goals.
