This is the best Liverpool squad of the modern era. The Reds are 8 points clear at the top of the table after just 8 games, they’re champions of Europe and they’re unbeatable at home. With the standards having improved so much at Anfield since the arrival of Jürgen Klopp we look at 3 Liverpool players that the Reds should sell in the summer.
This is a sad one. Lallana has been a fantastic servant to Liverpool but injuries have blighted his career on Merseyside. The England international has tremendous dribbling ability and the type of flair that the Reds are crying out for in midfield. Unfortunately, a string of injuries have left Lallana unable to hold down a place in the side and he has never quite hit the heights that he has promised with his glimpses of brilliance.
It’s easy to forget that Clyne is still on the books at Liverpool. The right back has struggled with injuries in recent years and is currently out with a long term knee problem. He had a couple of decent seasons at the Reds before Trent Alexander-Arnold swept him aside as he broke through to the first team. With the 21 year old Scouser immovable from the Reds lineup, it’s time to move Clyney on.
He’s a World Cup finalist yet he can’t get anywhere near this Liverpool team. The Croatian defender has struggled for a place in the side in part down to his own inconsistent form whenever he does get on the pitch but also down to the incredible performances that Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip have been putting in over the last year. There was talk of him leaving for Roma over the summer, maybe this deal will finally come through for the centre back.
