Marko Grujic has put in yet another brilliant performance and his form should excite every Liverpool fan.

Grujic re-joined Hertha Berlin this season after a wonderfully successful campaign there last year. His manager labelled him the best midfielder they’ve seen in 20 years for those performances.

Atletico Madrid reportedly wanted to sign him in the summer but Liverpool resisted, instead sending him back to Berlin.

Grujic started well and is getting better, drawing praise for his latest showing.

BT Sport made special mention in a tweet as they posted highlights of Grujic in Hertha’s 3-1 win over Fortuna Dusseldorf.

And the stats are certainly impressive. 61 passes, 10 duels won, and all five of his attempted dribbles completed.

It’s exactly the kind of all-action midfield display that Jurgen Klopp likes in his midfield. For that reason, Grujic should excite Liverpool fans with this form.

Klopp doesn’t want individual roles in his midfield – outside of Fabinho, arguably – and prefers players who can do it all. Jordan Henderson, James Milner, and Gini Wijnaldum offer that and so does Grujic.

He’s not just doing it at a low level, either. This is in the Bundesliga and he looks like one of the league’s best midfielders. There’s little doubt that he can transfer his ability across to the Premier League – if he stays injury-free.

But if Grujic does just that, he’s got a real chance of a place at Liverpool next year.

He’s still just 23, after all, and Klopp can surely unlock even more of his clear potential, just as he’s done with so many others.
