Liverpool favourite Roberto Firmino celebrated his 28th birthday at Anfield last night. The Brazilian forward was a vital part to the team’s 4-3 win over RB Salzburg in the Champions League.
The always unselfish Firmino provided a hat-trick of assists for his Liverpool teammates as the team claimed a vital three points.
A piece of great vision and a cheeky flick made Firmino’s first assist of the night. The Brazil international put Sadio Mane through on goal after a quick one-two took out the RB Salzburg defence. As far as assists go they really don’t get much better than that.
The next assist came as Firmino headed towards goal only for the visiting ‘keeper to parry the ball into the path of Mo Salah, who happily slotted home to make it 3-0.
Lastly was the winning goal, which came through another inventive piece of play from Liverpool’s number nine. The ball bounced up on the edge of the RB Salzburg box when Firmino nodded over the defence and into the path of Salah who did the rest.
