A tough tie despite having home advantage, Liverpool will need to be at the top of our game in order to progress. After the exploits of the young Reds at MK Dons, Klopp now must decide if he will stick with them in the next round.

Our youthful team could get exploited by a full strength Arsenal and we could find ourselves dumped out of the competition.
Liverpool need a domestic cup win. The League Cup provides the quickest route to achieving this and should be taken seriously.

On the flip side, Liverpool’s young team did well last night, so why drop them? The League Cup, whilst desirable, is certainly bottom on our priorities list.
Exiting the competition wouldn’t have a devastating impact on our season. By playing a similar side, Liverpool provide their youth with the experience of a big game at Anfield and preserve our stars in the process.
